Nettie Buitelaar PhD

CBO at BiosanaPharma  and Head of Europe at Ginward Ltd

Nettie Buitelaar has spent her entire working life in biotechnology. After obtaining her Ph.D. at Wageningen University she worked in applied research for about 9 years at TNO and DLO institutes. With her MBA degree secures as well, she moved into combining business and science in biotech. First working for Gilde Investment Management as a research analyst, then as the national director of the BioPartner program, ‘to stimulate entrepreneurship in life sciences’. She then moved on to work with Xendo, the biopharmaceutical service company. In 2005 she set up the Leiden Bio Science Park foundation and became the managing director of the park for 9 years. In 2012 she joined BiosanaPharma where she is active as Chief Business Officer. She also works as Head of Europe for Ginward Ltd, a corporate finance company connecting Asian investors to European investments, and is a member of several boards in biotech-related organisations.
